The springtime fishing in Naples, Florida is about as good as it gets. We haven’t seen fishing like this since fall! The Bait has showed up, and all of the game fish are hungry and waiting. An abundance of beautiful slot Redfish and over slots Snook have been everywhere. Any of the points, coves, bays, even docks and Sewalls have been producing fish! We’ve even had some massive Tarpon show up in the back country as well. We’ve hooked a couple monsters this week, put a few fish in the air still haven’t got one of the boat they are in the 150 to 180 pound class!
The Offshore fishery has still been very difficult to get to. We just haven’t had that break in the wind that we are needing to hit the wrecks for a Permit, Cobia, Kingfish and barracuda will all be there. Our calendars are still overflowing. Our next availability is around 15th of April. These days are very hard to get & going very quickly. Please reach out to anyone of our captains to secure your spot! Happy fishing, tight lines and we will see you on the water. Thank you, the Bedell Captains

Late March fishing report for Naples Florida. We were blasted with a late season cold front this week. Water dropped almost 10° overnight. Obviously the offshore fishery has been shut down because of winds and weather. It didn’t seem to bother the redfish too bad. It was extremely hard for us to get bait this week, we switch back to shrimp and did very well. Got lots of nice redfish on both of our day trips. Even got some beautiful sheephead for dinner.
Hopefully that was the last cold front of the season. As soon as these winds calm down and we are able to get where we need to go we expect fishing to be back on schedule offshore. Our calendars are extremely full. We do have a few spots here and there to fill. If you would like to try to get one of these charters for your family please book accordingly! Thank you, the Bedell Captains Fishing report for Naples Florida: lots of variety this week. The beach fishing has exploded. Lots of game fish within a 100 yards from shore. Lots of male Snook with huge females mixed in. Huge schools of Jack’s roaming the area in the 5-15 pound range. Even the Bonita’s showed up! Bait has been extremely tough. With the red tide we had this winter killed off all of our spring bait so that has been the trickiest part of our whole day.
March is here and with that comes unbearable winds and we are living it every day. It’s nearly impossible to get off shore when it’s like this so we have been concentrating all of our trips inshore till the winds can lay down. Also with March comes spring break and our schedules are overflowing, we’re getting 10 to 15 calls a day with the short notice are you open tomorrow? This never works this time of the year, so please plan accordingly. We still have two or three days open this month if you would like to book a charter please reach out to one of our captains. Thank you, the Bedell Captains The fishing in Southwest Florida this week has taken a trip back to January. We were blasted with a March cold front this week has plummeted the water 12° colder overnight. North east winds 20 miles an hour plus very dirty water makes fishing very difficult. Our captains are still making it happen! Lots of great table fair, and dinner for all of our clients. Lots of catches this week in the back country with redfish, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, trout even a few snook.
With this cold front obviously has shut down the offshore fishery in our area. All of the large sport fishing boats and head boats are fishing the back as well. By mid week we are hoping the winds turn more east and will clear the waters up for the rest of the month. In that aspect we have very limited space in our calendars for March. Also the first two weeks of April are almost fully booked. If you would like to book a charter with any of our captains, please contact us as soon as possible. We would like to get you and your family on the water the best we can. Thank you, The Bedell Captains Spring has sprung in Naples, Florida. Lots of the spring species are starting to show up. The waters are warming up we are starting to get into that pattern. The Tarpon and permit will be in our region any day now. We have had a few permit sightings but haven’t hooked up yet. That will happen this weekend! With the new moon and great tides fishing should be amazing.
Along with spring, brings lots of tourist. Our calendars and phones are exploding! Please reach out to anyone of our captains to secure your charter. We still have a few spots available this month, and we have definitely trickled into April. Looking forward to hearing from you and getting your family on the water the spring season. Thank you, the Bedell Captains! |
