The spring rush has been real and the start of the spring season has been off to a great start. The fishing has been fantastic and will only continue to get better as we progress further into spring. What’s so great about the spring is the amount of options we have available. From fishing the backcountry all the way out to the gulf there’s happy fish willing to comply wherever you’d like to fish! The Permit have shown up in full force offshore and have been stealing the spotlight out there. On the calm days we’ve been able to sight fish them out of massive schools which is always a crowd pleaser.
There’s also been plenty of barracudas to catch on artificials which help fill the gap whenever we have to wait on the arrival of the Permit. On top of this there has also still been some stray Cobia swimming around as well. Backcountry fishing has been very productive as well with lots of quality Snook and big jacks. Some Redfish and juvenile Tarpon have been prevalent as well. The only thing left is the arrival of the silver king which should be any day now. There’s been some stragglers showing up as is but any day now there’s going to be mass herds of Tarpon migrating through our area for the rest of the spring into the early summer. Our book is full for the rest of March and we’re filling many trips for April and May. Now is the best time to secure what’s left of prime dates. The Bedell’s are looking forward to fishing with all of you this spring season.
