Cooler water, lots of cold fronts with wind and rain. We are still getting it done! With water temp in the low 60s this week, the fishing still remains very solid. We have been catching good amounts of great table fair. Sheephead, black drum, snapper, have all been staples this week. We have been fishing anywhere from the  wrecks up to 5 miles and every nook and cranny in the back country has been supplying these fish for our clients.

Looks like this weather remains the same for the next few weeks. That’s OK, we don’t mind it. We love to offer these different fishing tactics to our clients that we don’t normally do year-round.

So if you’re looking to bring the family out for some great excitement. Lots of action. Not really any monsters this time of the year, that’s OK, the dinners and action make up for it! Looking to hear from all of you for upcoming fishing trips. Please contact anyone of our captains for a trip of a lifetime.

Thank you,
Captain Wes

The On a Mission crew had a nice little break in the weather. Few days after a blistering cold front we were able to hit some of the artificial wrecks just outside Naples. These wreck are 2-5 miles from land. A very short ride. Lots of mixed bad spices. Like the Goliath Grouper, sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, mangrove snapper and Gag Grouper. Could even have a Cobia swim through. We are ALWAYS looking for the Tripletail too!!!

When these cold fronts roll thru. We have Plan B in the backcountry. The back also supplies a nice mixed bag this time of the year. It’s usually a lot calmer in the back, and a lot of our clients prefer this. Lots of mixed bag species in the back, lots of things to do, lots of good table fare as well.

Our calendars are pretty packed for this week. We do have some room into next week and into 2021. Wishing everyone a happy and safe new year and looking forward to getting you all on the water in this new year!

Thank you, Captain Wes

On a Mission is gearing up for a great Thanksgiving week. The fishing in Naples Florida has been very special lately. Everything that swims is here and fattening up for winter.

Offshore fishing: The inshore to offshore waters have been producing lots of gamefish. From Kingfish & Bonita’s to the great tasting Tripletail. Lots of fun size Sharks if you want to pull on something stronger.

Backcountry fishing: The back has been of fire lately. Lots of big Snook & Redfish jus about everywhere. Lots of big Jacks to fill the gaps.

We still have some room in our schedule this week to take some last-minute parties. We have a few afternoons open please don’t hesitate to book these charters immediately, they will go fast. Wishing everybody a Happy & safe  Thanksgiving, we will see you on the water.

Fall fishing is about as good as it can be. Beautiful weather, and fish everywhere!

Offshore fishing. Lots of gamefish in very close. Tarpon, Kingfish, Bonita’s, a variety of fun size sharks. Also the Tripletail. Amazing table fare, awesome sight fishing opportunities.

Backcountry fishing. All of the usual suspects are here. Snook, Redfish, Jack’s and even some micro Tarpon. The water has been clean, and the fish are chewing!

We are getting booked for thanksgiving but have 2 boats in our fleet, and can accommodate large parties split on both boats. Or can bring another captain for larger parties. Looking forward to getting you out on the water soon.

Thanks,
Captain Wes

Well here we are again with yet with another hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico.

We really don’t mind, it just shuts the fishing along the beach and inshore  down a little bit. The fishing in the back remains solid. Big snook lots of reds, & jacks around every corner, always something to pull on. Even some juvenile Tarpon.

With the departure of tropical disturbance ETA. Fishing along the beach should go right back to normal. Tarpon sharks Bonita kingfish and triple tail will all be up for grabs. Our books are filling up completely for Thanksgiving we still have some half days available for that week so please if you and your family would like to get on the water with us please book accordingly!

So we will see you on the water, happy holidays & tight lines!

Fall fishing is here with full force. There’s so much bait and food everywhere, you just have to figure out what species you want to target.

The inshore waters are holding everything from Kingfish, Bonita, Spanish mackerel, sharks and some large tarpon. These fish are within 2 miles from the beach and very easy to access. We also run some trap lines and stumble across one of these beautiful tripletail. These fish offer amazing sight fishing opportunities and great table fair!

The back country has been completely off the charts as well. Snook, juvenile tarpon, big jacks, trout, mangrove snapper and the redfish are everywhere!

Season is coming the snowbirds are starting to show up and our calendars are filling up as well. Seems like life is getting back to normal down here in Florida and please give us a call to book any of your charters.

Thanks, Captain Wes

As we slip into October the water cools and the fish go insane! All the glamour spices are fired up when this happens. They have food everywhere. The bait has been so thick it’s crazy, very easy to get too!

Snook, tarpon and redfish have been owning everything! You can go anywhere with blacked out live wells and make something happen. I’m sure you’ve heard me say this before, we love this time of year!!

Our books have been getting back to normalcy. We have a very busy week this week and with two tropical systems in the Gulf we are praying for good fishing this week! Also praying for our fellow guides in Louisiana that are getting ready to get hit again! Stay safe, tight lines, Captain Wes!

We snuck out for probably one of the last permit trips of the summer. The Gulf is littered with hurricanes right now. Hopefully these fish will be around for a few more weeks with good weather pending. The back has been solid! There has been a plethora of beautiful pilchards everywhere you want to go. The Bait is one and done with all the pearls you need for a perfect day of fishing. There’s been lots of variety in the back, lots of Snook, juvenile Tarpon, jacks mangrove snapper and the fall redfish have started to show up as well. This is usually the off-season for us this time of the year but with everything that’s been going on we have been staying very steady. Lots of people shopping, a few booking. We have plenty of room in our calendars for your parties up to 4  Angler’s. This is the perfect time of the year to get on the water and catch some variety! Hope to see you all very soon, tight lines!

Thank you, Capt.  Wes!

On a Mission Charters had Michael Walker from the Jacksonville Jaguars on our boat last week. This was the second attempt out they lost some monsters the previous week. He was looking for some redemption, and found it!

The permit game has been solid in our region. Unfortunately, mother nature rain wind and unstable weather has prevented us from making it out there this week. So we have switched gears to the back. Some of the beach bait is growing in size and starting to be usable snook and redfish has been solid there has been a few Tarpon on the beach still plenty of things to find.

Please give us a call or email if you have any charter questions. Any of our captains are very knowledgeable and can help you with your questions on booking your personalized Charter.

Thank you, Capt and Wes Bedell

The Permit game in Naples Florida has been the complete go to! It’s real easy to go buy a few dozen crabs and go sight cast these beautiful fish. Also  been some very large barracudas on these wrecks that fill in the gap’s when the permit do not show right away.

The inshore game has become almost strictly artificial‘s. The bait in our region in Southwest Florida has vanished. We have been able to gold hook threads offshore when we can find them but those baits are just a little too big for the back country fish. The Tarpon on the Beach haven’t seem to mind them or the snook inn the passes. Also we have have been throwing a variety of soft plastics and top water plugs in the back depending on conditions.

It seems like everyone’s vacation plans are all over the board our calendars are ironically busy for the off-season fishing is very good right now and we usually take advantage of this on our own but luckily we are having some nice clients come down and book this beautiful weather!

Please call email or contact any of our captains at on a mission charters in beautiful Naples Florida, looking forward to hearing from you soon. tight lines Captain Wes!
