As the weather slightly cools down here in Naples, Florida. It’s amazing to see how hot the fishing gets!
As we enter the first week of November fishing remains so solid and only going to get better this month! I’ll kinds of new species will move into our area as the cold fronts start marching down and water temperatures plummet! Cobia, Tripletail, Bonita, Kingfish are just a few of the species that will be showing up. We had a nice run with a few cobia on some trips this week, just a few fish undersize and lost some bigger ones at the boat! These wrecks are also holding good numbers of giant Snook and goliath grouper. The king fish Spanish mackerel in Bonita should all be blasting mid water to top water column! Also a plethora of mangrove snapper‘s for the table. For the back country this is one of our favorite months. Big snook and redfish will move into their usual haunts for the winter months. Some big snook will move off to the wreck and some will remain in the back in the coves and creeks! We love this month and fishing can be absolutely amazing!! Calendars are filling up every day. Even with our second boat added Thanksgiving week is almost full and starting to fill the rest of the month very quickly. Please reach out to anyone of our captains for any information or any guidance in booking your families charter! Thank you, the Bedell Captains.

Well we went to sleep last night and it was summer. We woke up to winter. So crazy! That’s why we love Florida!
These cooler temperatures are a good thing. It will bring all kinds of new species to our areas. The Tarpon will show up in greater numbers. The Kingfish, Cobia and Tripletail will all be here any day now. The Bonita showed, we saw some small numbers this morning. The backcountry and near shore have been really good. Lots of Redfish seem to be everywhere in good numbers. Trout too. Snook and big Jacks are not far behind. The offshore has been shut down this week due to 15-25 knot winds make it miserable and I promise you don’t want to go there. The near shore is completely on fire. Black-tip, Spinners, Bulls sharks are everywhere, even had a 10 tiger swim up to the boat and swiped the bait! Our calendars are filling up fast Thanksgiving is almost already closed out so if you have any plans on being near Naples, Florida during that time I would definitely give us a call. Thank you the Bedell Captains! The inshore and beach fishing has come alive this week! The water has cooled just a few degrees and light east winds has made for incredible clean water and amazing sight fishing opportunities.
The Tarpon are doing cartwheels and backflips in the Pilchard pods at first light in the morning. These fish can be targeted by a variety of plugs or simply just the cut chunk on the bottom! They have been a little finicky because they are just gorging on shiners! It’s been a very short window at daybreak it’s usually over very quickly. Also the benefit of the chunk bait, we’ve been picking up lots of spinner and Blacktip shark‘s which are also fun to pull on when the tarpon are being finicky. Massive schools of Jack’s have been patrolling the beach as well. Large schools all different sizes some schools are 5 pounds other schools are 15 to 20 with some larger 30s in there! These fish are in 3 feet of water daisychaining eating everything but the kitchen sink. The backcountry fishing has come alive as well! With these cooler water temperatures the red fish have littered the whole region. You could find these fish on docks, bays, points, coves, rock piles even free swimming massive schools just offshore! It feels like season is here earlier and earlier every day. Our book very busy but we have also added a sister boat this year to take on any extra work. Which leaves our schedule with another boat available for the calendar! Please don’t hesitate or wait to reach out to anyone of our captains! Thank you. The Bedell Captains! |
