The fishing in Southwest Florida this week has taken a trip back to January. We were blasted with a March cold front this week has plummeted the water 12° colder overnight. North east winds 20 miles an hour plus very dirty water makes fishing very difficult. Our captains are still making it happen! Lots of great table fair, and dinner for all of our clients. Lots of catches this week in the back country with redfish, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, trout even a few snook.
With this cold front obviously has shut down the offshore fishery in our area. All of the large sport fishing boats and head boats are fishing the back as well. By mid week we are hoping the winds turn more east and will clear the waters up for the rest of the month. In that aspect we have very limited space in our calendars for March. Also the first two weeks of April are almost fully booked. If you would like to book a charter with any of our captains, please contact us as soon as possible. We would like to get you and your family on the water the best we can. Thank you, The Bedell Captains

Spring has sprung in Naples, Florida. Lots of the spring species are starting to show up. The waters are warming up we are starting to get into that pattern. The Tarpon and permit will be in our region any day now. We have had a few permit sightings but haven’t hooked up yet. That will happen this weekend! With the new moon and great tides fishing should be amazing.
Along with spring, brings lots of tourist. Our calendars and phones are exploding! Please reach out to anyone of our captains to secure your charter. We still have a few spots available this month, and we have definitely trickled into April. Looking forward to hearing from you and getting your family on the water the spring season. Thank you, the Bedell Captains! Fishing report for the last week in February. Spring is knocking down the door. I’m sure a few fronts will still sneak through. As water temperatures rise, all of the spring species should be here. We have already had a few permit sightings Offshore. Our next offshore charter we will have crabs. Tarpon will be next! So, with that said. We are still on the shrimp train. Catching a variety of wreck spices, from sheephead, snapper, mackerel, also some jewfish!
The backcountry is firing up too. Big snook and redfish are back on the move. They are eating a variety of artificials. We are waiting for the pilchards to show up. Hopefully soon! Naples is full of people. Are phones and emails are going crazy for the spring season. Please reach out to any of our captains for booking details!
