The cold has been nonstop down here in Naples, FL. We're getting cold front after cold front but it hasn't slowed down the fishing. We're still following our winter time pattern and using our typical winter tactics. The Inshore bite has been consistent as quantity is the name of the game this time of the year. The Trout have been the main staple in the backcountry with a couple Redfish here and there and some Snook as well. With the drop in temperatures the big Sheepshead have been getting fired up as well. The nearshore bite has been yielding a great bottom bite with plenty of Snappers and Sheepshead for dinner with some Gags and Goliaths to pull on for something bigger. Offshore has been our ticket recently for bigger gamefish. There is a great snapper bite out there with plenty of Amberjacks to pull on. There have been some Cobia out there as well. This will be our theme until we start getting some warm up periods in February. This is the best time of the year to fish for those seeking out eating fish! Once we progress more toward spring we will shift gears from meat fishing over to sport fishing. We are filling trips on the daily for the upcoming spring. This is our busiest time of the year and now is a good time to secure prime tidal windows. Please reach out to any of the Bedell Captains regarding any questions you may have.
